Doctor of Physical Therapy

The University of Findlay offers an accredited physical therapy program with two options:

  • Traditional program
  • Weekend college program (WEC, the only weekend program of its kind in the United States)

Traditional Program

The traditional program is a six-year (3 + 3) program. Students may enter as undergraduates and take three years of prerequisites. The fourth year starts the professional studies phase of the program. Upon completion of the fourth year, students receive a bachelor of science degree. A doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree is awarded after completing a total of six years of study. Transfer students may also enter the program for three years of professional studies to earn a DPT degree.

Weekend Physical Therapy Program

The weekend program is specifically designed for current Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) with a bachelor's degree to earn a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree. Students attend our weekend college every other weekend for a period of three years to complete the program. A maximum of 36 students are admitted into a cohort to begin the program each January.
